The man believed to be responsible for one of the two mass shootings in Dayton on Monday has been identified as Kennard Mapp, aged 42, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
Mapp passed away on Monday night at Kettering Health Dayton following the incident on Genesee Avenue, as reported by News Center 7. He arrived at the hospital after the shooting took place.
The shooting occurred around 6:42 p.m., with an 11-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Both individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Subsequently, a 36-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man arrived at area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, as confirmed by Dayton Police Lieutenant Steven Bauer.
According to a police report, Mapp drove himself to the hospital following the shooting and was later pronounced deceased on arrival. The cause and manner of his death are yet to be determined by the coroner’s office.
