WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The search for 19-year-old Kaedian Tyshaun Allen continues as he remains missing, with efforts ongoing to locate him.

Although the Winston-Salem Police Department concluded their search for the day on Thursday just before noon, Allen is still missing, and authorities plan to follow up on any leads that may arise.

For the past two days, investigators have been scouring the Quarry at Grant Park, prompting the closure of the park to the public as preparations are made for the upcoming “Rock Out the Quarry” event on Friday.

Allan has been missing since May 31, after Winston-Salem officers attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations. It is important to note that Allen is not wanted in a criminal investigation, according to police statements.

During a joint media availability with the Winston-Salem Fire Department, Winston-Salem Police Chief William Penn highlighted the unique nature of Allen’s disappearance, as his last known location was at the quarry.

With an average of about 30 missing persons cases a month, the city employs various search tactics, including grid searches, community canvassing, and the use of camera footage to locate missing individuals.

The search efforts also involve the Winston-Salem Fire Department’s water rescue team, which deploys boats to aid in search operations. Additionally, the High Point Fire Department’s dive team is on standby, ready to assist if needed.

Various advanced technologies, such as drones equipped with thermal imaging, sonar devices like the Marine Sonic towfish, and a Deep Trekker underwater remotely operated vehicle, are being utilized in the search for Allen.

Disappearance Details

On the night of May 31, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations, leading to a pursuit that ended at Quarry at Grant Park. While the driver was apprehended, Allen, the passenger, remained missing.

Despite extensive search efforts, including the use of drones, thermal cameras, and foot patrols, Allen’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Search Operations

Authorities have been collaborating with multiple agencies, including the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and local law enforcement, to locate Allen.

The search has involved ground searches, water searches, and aerial surveillance, with a focus on the Quarry at Grant Park and its surrounding areas.

While the investigation continues, the public is reassured that there is no immediate threat to public safety at the park.

Allen is described as having brown eyes and black hair, standing at around six feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black over red Nike jacket, dark pants, and slides.
