In Douglas, Wyoming, a tragic accident took place on Sunday, 6/23, where a fatal crash occurred around milepost .5 on WY 91, west of Douglas. The Wyoming Highway Patrol received a notification at 8:22 pm regarding a two-vehicle rollover crash.
Upon reaching the scene, Troopers found a 2017 Chevrolet 3500, travelling westbound, and a 2017 Ford Edge travelling eastbound. The driver of the Chevrolet 3500 crossed the center line and collided head-on with the Ford Edge.
The driver of the Ford Edge, identified as 32-year-old Douglas resident Justine Crouch, sustained injuries and was airlifted to Denver for treatment. A juvenile passenger in the backseat on the driver’s side was also injured and airlifted to Denver. Tragically, another juvenile in the front passenger seat of the Ford Edge did not survive the crash.
The driver of the Chevrolet 3500, 43-year-old Douglas resident Wesley Kersey, declined medical treatment at the scene. He has been charged with one count of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, two counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with Serious Bodily Injury, and two counts of Aggravated Vehicular Assault with Serious Bodily Injury.
It is important to note that all individuals involved are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
