June 26—CASS LAKE — A Laporte resident who had been reported missing two days ago has tragically been discovered deceased in Cass Lake.
Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes released a statement on Wednesday morning, June 26, informing the public that the Sheriff’s Office had received a report of a deceased individual found in a wooded area close to the railway tracks in Cass Lake.
Upon receiving the report, officers from the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office and the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department swiftly responded to the scene where they found the body of the missing person, identified as 60-year-old James White from rural Laporte.
James White had been reported missing to the authorities on June 24 after friends and family members had not seen him for a period of two weeks.
The investigation into the cause of James White’s death is currently ongoing, with law enforcement officials working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
