Accident – Death – Obituary News : Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Tragedy struck in the Aerodrome police circle as a 16-year-old boy, identified as Himanshu Singh Chauhan, took his own life in the early hours of Wednesday. The reason behind his extreme step was the refusal of marriage to a 14-year-old girl, whom he desired to wed. Himanshu, a resident of Krishna Bagh Colony, worked at a cloth market while his father was a labourer. His maternal uncle, Shubham Jadaun, revealed that Himanshu and the young girl had expressed their wish to tie the knot. However, their hopes were shattered when the girl’s mother declined the proposal during a discussion held at her home the previous evening.
Himanshu appeared to be in good spirits during dinner and even slept in the same room as his parents. However, tragedy struck when his mother discovered him hanging outside the room at around 4 am. He was the only son of his parents, who also have an elder married daughter.
In a separate incident, the Rajendra Nagar police arrested three individuals on charges of abetting the suicide of a woman. The victim, Sangeeta Gurjar, took her own life on February 3 after enduring mental harassment from the accused, who demanded Rs 3 lakh from her. The trio, identified as Bansilal and Kamal Patel of Bijalpur, and Subhash Tawar of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, had allegedly threatened Sangeeta’s family to vacate a hut they had purchased from Bansilal for Rs 1 lakh. The additional Rs 3 lakh demanded led to constant threats, ultimately driving Sangeeta to suicide. Following an investigation and statements from the deceased’s family, the police arrested the accused and charged them under relevant sections of the IPC.
In a separate incident, the Pardeshipura police apprehended a youth for attempting to murder an elderly man in Subhash Nagar. The victim, Ashok Kumar Bansal (72), reported the incident after witnessing the youth allegedly molesting a girl near a school. When Ashok intervened, the youth attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. The police responded swiftly, registering a case of attempted murder and apprehending the accused. The perpetrator claimed that he was simply talking to a known girl when the elderly man intervened, leading to a confrontation where he struck Ashok with a key chain.
These incidents highlight the sensitive nature of relationships and the consequences of mental harassment and violence. The authorities are taking swift action to ensure justice is served in each case, emphasizing the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully and respecting individual choices and boundaries..
