Accident – Death – Obituary News : North Las Vegas Police Department has released new details regarding the tragic shooting incident that took place at an apartment on Casa Norte Drive. The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Eric Adams, is said to have killed five people and critically injured a 13-year-old girl before taking his own life.
According to the latest information provided by the police, Adams had been visiting his ex-girlfriend, a 45-year-old woman, at her apartment when a domestic argument ensued. The argument escalated, leading Adams to arm himself with a gun and fatally shoot two other women present in the apartment. The victims have been identified as 24-year-old Kayla Harris, the daughter of Adams’ ex-girlfriend, and Harris’ 22-year-old girlfriend.
During the altercation, a neighbour, identified as 20-year-old Christopher Munoz, overheard the commotion and went downstairs to intervene. Unfortunately, Adams shot Munoz inside the downstairs apartment before proceeding to the upstairs apartment where he confronted and shot three family members of Munoz – Damiana “Anna” Munoz, her daughter Amy, and Anna’s 13-year-old granddaughter, Olivia. Olivia is currently in critical condition in hospital.
While two other individuals inside the apartment managed to remain hidden and unharmed during the incident, the tragic events left a lasting impact on the family. One family member, who witnessed the chaos, described the harrowing experience of seeing their cousin gasping for air in the corner.
Following the shooting, Adams reportedly took his ex-girlfriend hostage and fled the scene. However, she was able to escape unharmed and seek help from a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer. Subsequently, North Las Vegas police officers discovered the victims in the apartment based on information provided by Adams’ ex-girlfriend.
The standoff with police ended tragically when Adams took his own life. Investigations revealed that Adams was a convicted felon with a history of violent offences, including battery and domestic violence-related charges. It was also disclosed that he was not legally permitted to possess a firearm.
