Accident – Death – Obituary News :
A tragic incident occurred in Kodaikanal, Dindigul district, where a 55-year-old man lost his life after a traffic signal pole fell on him. The victim, identified as E Dass of Teresa Nagar, Kodaikanal, was a menial labourer who was working alongside his co-worker T Suresh (40) of Chiannapallam, Naidupuram.
The unfortunate incident took place around 7.30 am near Kodaikanal bus stand while Dass and Suresh were pulling a tri-cycle. Suresh also suffered severe injuries in the accident and both victims were rushed to Kodaikanal Government Hospital for treatment.
Despite the medical attention provided, Dass succumbed to his injuries at around 9 am. Suresh remains in the hospital under medical care as he continues his recovery.
The incident was caused by strong winds and rainfall that uprooted the signal pole, leading to the tragic outcome. Authorities from the Highways Department, Kodaikanal Municipality, and local police personnel visited the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
