A teenage boy from Rodeo was tragically killed in a shooting in Hayward in the early hours of Wednesday morning, according to a statement released by the Hayward Police Department. The incident also left a 13-year-old victim seriously injured.
Details of the Shooting
The Hayward Police Department responded to reports of the shooting at 1:58 a.m. on the 24000 block of Second Street. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a 15-year-old boy from Rodeo at the scene.
Approximately 15 minutes after the initial police response, authorities were informed that a second victim had been taken to a local hospital for treatment. The injured victim, a 13-year-old from Hayward, is currently in critical but stable condition.
Investigation and Arrests Status
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting incident. The City of Hayward has sadly recorded its fifth homicide of the year in 2024.
