Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities in St. Louis County are on the hunt for a 43-year-old man accused of being involved in the tragic death of a toddler due to a fentanyl overdose last year. Alphonso Huntley is currently considered “at large” as the investigation unfolds, with police requesting a warrant for his arrest more than nine months after the child’s passing.

Huntley faces a felony charge of endangering the welfare of a child, specifically resulting in death, in relation to the case. The incident took place in the 4000 block of Jenny Drive in north St. Louis County, where Huntley was responsible for caring for the two-year-old child. It is alleged that he left fentanyl in an area accessible to the child, leading to the tragic outcome.

The toddler, identified as Mecca Hardwrict-Aaten, tragically passed away on or around September 18, 2023. A subsequent examination by a medical professional revealed that the cause of death was the ingestion of fentanyl and other substances.

Anyone with relevant information regarding the whereabouts of Alphonso Huntley or details related to the ongoing investigation is urged to contact the St. Louis County Police Department on 636-529-8210.
