Zion Brooks : Police ID Victim in Deadly Attack, Search for Suspect – InForum

FARGO — The Fargo community is reeling after the tragic news of Zion Brooks being identified as the victim of a fatal shooting that took place in the parking lot of The Arbors apartment complex on June 24.

The 24-year-old Brooks was a respected and long-term resident of The Arbors, according to his neighbours who described him as a “respectable” young man.

Authorities have identified J’Veonte Malike Logan, also known as Amire, as a person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting. Police have located the vehicles believed to have fled the scene, including a gray 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe with North Dakota plates 628 DZR, which Logan was believed to be driving.

Emergency services responded to reports of shots fired at The Arbors in McCormick Park shortly after 8 p.m. The victim was treated at the scene and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

Police have urged the public not to approach Logan and to instead contact authorities if they have any information on his whereabouts.
