A tragic incident unfolded in Karachi on Tuesday night when a young man, identified as 34-year-old Zeeshan, was fatally injured while resisting a robbery attempt in Korangi No 2.5. Zeeshan, who was fifth among seven siblings and worked at a boutique in Korangi Industrial Area, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital the following day.
According to reports, Zeeshan and his brother, Mansoor Ali, had just returned from work and were outside their house when two armed muggers approached them. The robbers demanded their mobile phones and when Zeeshan resisted, he was shot by the assailants as they tried to flee the scene.
Despite the attack, Mansoor managed to overpower one of the robbers, while the other was apprehended by local residents a few streets away. The captured suspects were subjected to vigilante justice by the enraged locals before being handed over to the police for further investigation.
Zeeshan was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment, but tragically, he lost his life the next day as a result of the injuries sustained during the robbery attempt.
This incident highlights the growing concern of innocent people falling victim to violent crimes in Karachi. Zeeshan’s untimely death has brought the total number of individuals killed by robbers in the city this year to 79, underscoring the urgent need for improved security measures to protect the residents of Karachi.
