OMAHA, Nebraska (KETV) — A person suffering from gunshot wounds walked into Nebraska Medicine overnight Tuesday, following an incident at The Turf Club near S 60th and Center streets.
At approximately 12:50 a.m., Omaha police responded to a shots fired call at The Turf Club. Security personnel informed the officers that they had ejected a man, identified as 41-year-old Perry Stanfield, who was causing a disturbance.
According to authorities, Stanfield engaged in an altercation with two individuals in the parking lot and attempted to strike them. Security reported seeing a handgun in his waistband during the confrontation.
After the altercation, Stanfield fled to his vehicle, and one of the individuals fired multiple shots towards a blue Trailblazer as Stanfield drove away. The suspects involved in the shooting incident then fled the scene on foot.
Subsequently, around 1 a.m., officers received a report of a walk-in shooting at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where Stanfield was uncooperative and denied being present at The Turf Club.
The Omaha Police Department confirmed that the incident is currently under investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
