Accident – Death – Obituary News :

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX-

A man from Spring has been charged with first-degree murder for the second time within a span of two months, following his alleged involvement in the distribution of illegal drugs that led to the deaths of a teenager from Montgomery and a young man from Willis.

On the 16th of March, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a drug overdose resulting in the death of 21-year-old Samuel Pearson in the 10100 block of Barberry in Willis. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the deceased male. The MCSO Narcotics team initiated an investigation and found a bag of pills in a drawer, along with a white powdery substance on a nearby desk that tested positive for fentanyl.

An autopsy was ordered by Judge Wayne Mack, which confirmed that the cause of death was due to an overdose. Further examination of the victim’s text messages revealed communication with Kein Cormier, who was identified as the individual responsible for selling the fentanyl-laced pills to Pearson on the 13th of March in The Woodlands.

Following the submission of the pills for testing at the DPS lab, it was determined that they contained fentanyl and 3,4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine at a quantity of 0.15 grams. The final autopsy report attributed Pearson’s death to fentanyl toxicity, with Cormier being identified as the manufacturer of the fatal pills. A warrant was issued for Cormier, who was subsequently arrested in Harris County on the 21st of May and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder, with a bond set at $250,000.

Further developments in the case saw Cormier being formally charged with first-degree murder in relation to the death of 18-year-old Tyler Lee Gengo from Montgomery on the 19th of April 2024. This additional charge led to Cormier’s bond being raised to $500,000, with an out-of-county warrant hold also noted on the Jail Roster. Cormier’s criminal record includes prior drug-related offenses and instances of violence.
