In a recent update, the search and rescue (SAR) operation for an 88-year-old man from Kampung Taee along Jalan Baki-Riih, who had been missing since June 17, was officially stood down today.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the decision to end the seven-day search was made at 5pm yesterday (June 25).
Despite widening their search to a radius of six kilometres from the SAR control post, the SAR team unfortunately did not uncover any new leads on the whereabouts of the missing individual.
The elderly man, identified as Asui Langgang, left his home in Kampung Taee on June 17 at 9am on a motorcycle to gather vegetables in the forest. When he failed to return the same day, family members and villagers organized a search operation and discovered his motorcycle in the Achul area, but Asui Langgang remains unaccounted for.
