Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Delhi Police have apprehended a former engineer turned Youtuber in connection with the robbery of a 38-year-old cab driver. The suspect, identified as Aryan Rajvansh, allegedly held the cab driver, Kulbhushan Sharma, at gunpoint and stole his mobile phone before shooting him in the hip during a botched escape attempt.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, June 23, when Rajvansh hired a cab from Dwarka Mor to Kashmere Gate ISBT. While en route to their destination, Rajvansh brandished a firearm, threatening Sharma and demanding his belongings. In a desperate bid to escape, Sharma redirected the cab towards a nearby fuel station, only to be met with a gunshot wound to the hip from Rajvansh. The assailant then fled the scene, leaving the injured cab driver in need of urgent medical attention.
Local residents rushed Sharma to AIIMS for treatment and promptly alerted the authorities. Delhi Police swiftly launched an investigation, filing charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act. Through meticulous technical analysis, law enforcement successfully tracked down Rajvansh to Ayodhya and executed a raid on his residence, culminating in his arrest.
During interrogation, Rajvansh confessed to orchestrating the robbery out of financial desperation. The assailant revealed that he had travelled to Delhi to retrieve his belongings from a friend’s residence in Dwarka and resorted to criminal activities due to his dire financial straits. Rajvansh disclosed that he had pursued a BTech in computer science from a private college in Tamil Nadu before transitioning to a career as a rapper, which proved unsuccessful, leading to financial instability.
Furthermore, Rajvansh disclosed that he had established a studio in Delhi, only to close it down following a dispute with the proprietor. Subsequently, he procured a firearm to intimidate the individual involved in the altercation and resorted to robbing the cab driver in a bid to alleviate his financial woes.
The authorities have lauded the swift apprehension of Rajvansh and commended the public for their prompt assistance in aiding the injured cab driver. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, with Delhi Police vowing to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure the safety of the community.
