A man has been arrested in Palghar, Maharashtra for the alleged murder of a 32-year-old married woman with whom he was in a relationship. The incident took place in the village of Phoolpada in Virar, according to senior police inspector Vijay Pawar.
The accused, identified as Shekar Kadam, was taken into custody after the woman’s husband filed a complaint. The victim lived with her husband and two children, while the accused resided nearby with his wife and daughter for several years.
It is reported that Kadam began visiting the victim’s house regularly, which raised suspicions from her husband about her fidelity. When he confronted his wife about her relationship with Kadam and asked her to stop seeing him, the accused allegedly threatened him.
According to the husband’s statement in the FIR, his wife admitted to having a love affair with Kadam. On the day of the incident, the accused went to the victim’s house in the afternoon and stayed there until evening. An argument ensued between them, resulting in Kadam allegedly strangling the woman to death.
The police are investigating the case further to gather more evidence and information surrounding the murder. The motive behind the crime and any other potential factors leading to the tragic incident are yet to be determined.
