Accident – Death – Obituary News :

RAEFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — A Hoke County resident is in hot water after being accused of stealing seven mobile homes from a mobile home park, according to the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident took place on Sunday, June 2, when H&H Communities reported the theft of seven mobile homes from Green Pines Mobile Home Park. Interestingly, three of the stolen homes were later discovered in Harnett County, raising suspicions about the extent of the operation.

Following the initial report, H&H Communities contacted Hoke County Dispatch to report the theft of a stove from another trailer at the same mobile home park. This prompted swift action from law enforcement officers.

During a routine traffic stop, deputies apprehended a vehicle transporting the stolen stove. The driver, a woman, revealed that she had been instructed by Ryan Gabriel Doby to remove the stove from the trailer.

Further investigation led deputies to a tow driver who had been instructed by Doby to relocate the stolen mobile homes to different locations. Doby now faces a total of eight counts of felony larceny in connection with the thefts.

Arrest and Interrogation

On June 23, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations unit conducted an investigative stop on a vehicle associated with a wanted individual. The driver, identified as Doby, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest.

Doby was taken into custody without incident and subsequently interrogated by detectives after waiving his Miranda Rights. Following the interrogation, Doby was transported to the Hoke County Detention Center, where he was served with the warrant for the eight counts of larceny.

Due to his pretrial release status, Doby was denied bail and remains in custody. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with additional information related to this case to contact Lt. Sullivan at (910) 875-5111.
