A tragic incident unfolded in Montgomery on Monday, resulting in the death of one man and the arrest of another.
At 12:50 p.m., police and fire medics responded to a call reporting a body discovered in the 2100 block of Plum Street. Upon arrival, they found a man who had been fatally shot.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, pending notification of his family.
Maj. Saba Coleman revealed that 65-year-old Kevin Chase was swiftly identified as a suspect in the case. However, she did not specify the details that led authorities to Chase or the potential relationship between the suspect and the victim.
Chase has been charged with murder and is currently held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
Regrettably, this marks the 36th homicide in Montgomery this year.
