Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident unfolded in Mangaf city, Kuwait, on June 12, as a deadly blaze engulfed a residential building, claiming the lives of 45 Indian workers, including 34-year-old Kaluka from Bihar. The victim, hailing from Darbanga, Bihar, had been working at NBTC for seven years, serving as a salesman at the NBTC Highway Center.

After a painstaking process of DNA testing, Kaluka’s body was identified, bringing closure to his grieving family. The NBTC management went above and beyond by flying in Kaluka’s brother, Shahrukh Khan, to Kuwait for the necessary procedures. Following legal protocols, Kaluka’s mortal remains were repatriated to his homeland in Patna via Mumbai on June 24, with his brother accompanying him on the journey.

In a heartwarming gesture, NBTC officials provided financial aid to Kaluka’s family to cover the funeral expenses, offering support during their time of need. The company also extended similar assistance to the families of all the victims who lost their lives in the tragic Mangaf fire, demonstrating compassion and solidarity in the face of adversity.

The devastating fire that ravaged the seven-storey building in Mangaf, Ahmadi Governorate, resulted in the loss of 45 Indian lives and left 33 others injured. The incident, which also claimed the lives of foreign workers from other nationalities, left a total of 49 individuals dead and 50 others wounded. A staggering 196 migrant workers were reportedly residing in the ill-fated building at the time of the blaze.

Reports indicate that the fire originated in the kitchen area around 4 am, catching the occupants off guard as most of them were asleep. The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the community, underscoring the importance of fire safety measures and the need for stringent regulations to prevent such catastrophes in the future..
