Accident – Death – Obituary News : A British youngster has been unaccounted for for more than a week subsequent to attending a gigantic rave during a visit to the Spanish isle of Tenerife, and his relatives are anxiously hoping to locate him.

Nineteen-year-old Jay Slater, from the northwestern English region of Lancashire, was last in touch on the morning of June 17 after participating in the NRG music festival in the south of the isle, according to a GoFundMe page initiated by a colleague who accompanied him.

Lucy Mae, who mentioned she departed the rave before Slater, got a call from him the subsequent morning. He disclosed that he left the party with two individuals he had bumped into and visited their apartment, which was miles away from civilization on the mountainous isle.

Slater informed her that he vacated the apartment at 8 a.m. “and walked for half an hour before urgently contacting me when his phone hit 1%.”

“He was stranded in the mountains, he was not conscious of his whereabouts, he was desperately in need of a drink,” she penned.

Slater’s last whereabouts was on an off-road path about a 10-hour trek from his hotel. The weather was extremely cold and windy, and Slater was merely dressed in shorts and a T-shirt, Mae mentioned.

The Guardia Civil, Spain’s national law enforcement, shared footage on X of officials exploring mountainous areas and ravines in a helicopter.

The Lancashire Police Force has extended their assistance to the Guardia Civil despite the case being “beyond the jurisdiction of UK policing,” the agency stated in a statement on Friday. The police force also stated they have specialist officers aiding Slater’s family.

The NRG festival also released a statement in an Instagram post on Saturday, branding the teen’s vanishing as a “devastating situation” that “has profoundly impacted us all.”

“Despite the widespread coverage and hard work of local authorities involved in the search, at the time of posting Jay has not yet been found,” the festival said. “We have been able to offer some practical support to the members of Jay’s family who have arrived in Tenerife in such challenging circumstances, and we are inspired by their resilience and determination.”

In an update to the GoFundMe post on Sunday, Slater’s mother, identified as Debbie Duncan, stated the family is extremely anxious and doing everything conceivable to find him.

“It’s been a living hell,” the teen’s father, Warren Slater, mentioned to reporters in the town of Santiago del Teide, as per BBC.

“Somebody must know something. I just want him to be found,” he voiced.

Slater’s employer, construction business PH Build Group, remarked on Facebook that he is an apprentice bricklayer.

“Jay has been with us since he left school and is liked by all,” the company stated. “He needs to be back home where he belongs.”.
