MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities in Manatee County are currently investigating a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of three women in Bradenton on Monday night. The suspected gunman, identified as Javontee Brice, was also killed after a shootout with Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies.

According to officials, the tragic events began unfolding when deputies responded to a shooting at the Motel 6 on 67th Street Circle East in Bradenton at 9:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Brice’s 48-year-old mother deceased from a gunshot wound.
Shortly after, at 9:40 p.m., authorities were called to another shooting in Palmetto where a 29-year-old woman was shot while sitting inside a parked SUV on 26th Street Court East. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries an hour later.
As the investigation continued, reports of a third shooting surfaced at 4800 55th Street West in Bradenton around 10 p.m. The same suspect was involved in this incident, shooting another adult female before fleeing the scene. The victim later passed away at a local hospital.
The Manatee Sheriff’s Office then issued a statewide alert for Brice’s vehicle, which was eventually traced to Hamilton County near the Florida-Georgia state line. Brice was killed at 1:30 a.m. after exchanging gunfire with Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies.
Authorities have revealed that Brice had intentions of travelling to Georgia to target another individual before his demise.
