Accident – Death – Obituary News :
In a tragic turn of events, a suspect wanted in connection to three shooting deaths, including that of his own mother, has been killed in a deputy-involved shooting in Hamilton County, Florida.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reported that the series of shootings began around 9:15 p.m. at a Motel 6 on 6th Street Circle East in Bradenton. Upon arrival at the motel, deputies discovered the lifeless body of a 48-year-old woman who had succumbed to a gunshot wound.
Eyewitnesses at the scene revealed that the alleged perpetrator, identified as 28-year-old Javontee Brice, had arrived at the motel and fatally shot his own mother for reasons unknown. Reports suggested that Brice may have been heading towards Georgia following the incident.
Just 25 minutes later, deputies were called to another location on 26th Street Court East near 9th Avenue Drive East in Palmetto, where they found a 29-year-old woman shot inside a parked SUV. Despite efforts by Palmetto Police to save her, the woman tragically passed away an hour later. Witnesses at the scene also identified Brice as the assailant.
At around 10 p.m., law enforcement responded to a third shooting incident on 55th Street West near Bradenton, where another adult woman had been shot. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. Once again, Brice was identified as the shooter by witnesses.
Following the string of violent events, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office issued a ‘Be On the Lookout’ (BOLO) alert for Brice’s vehicle.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies later located the suspect’s car on I-75 at around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Upon spotting law enforcement, Brice exited the vehicle at a closed service station and opened fire on deputies. In response, the deputies returned fire, resulting in Brice’s death.
A female companion who was in the car with Brice managed to escape and is currently cooperating with authorities. At present, she faces no charges related to the incident.
Investigators from the Manatee Homicide unit disclosed that Brice had been en route to Georgia with the intention of targeting another individual.
