A tragic incident unfolded at a Motel 6 in Bradenton, Florida, on Monday night, as a 28-year-old man shot and killed three women, including his own mother, before being fatally shot by deputies near the Georgia state line.
Shooting Rampage Unfolds
The Manatee County deputies were first called to the Motel 6 in Bradenton after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a 48-year-old woman who had succumbed to gunshot wounds. Witnesses at the scene identified the victim as the mother of the suspect, Javontee Brice.
According to eyewitnesses, Brice fled the scene and was believed to be heading towards Georgia. Just 30 minutes later, another shooting was reported in Palmetto, where a 28-year-old woman was found shot inside a parked SUV. Despite attempts to save her, she tragically passed away.
At around 10 p.m., a third shooting occurred in Bradenton, where another woman was found shot. The authorities identified Brice as the suspect in this incident as well. The victim was rushed to the hospital but sadly did not survive.
High-Speed Chase Ends in Shootout
Following a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert issued by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies in Hamilton County spotted Brice’s vehicle on Interstate 75 near the state line. A dramatic high-speed chase ensued, culminating in Brice pulling into a closed service station.
Brice reportedly exited the vehicle and opened fire on the deputies, who returned fire, ultimately killing him. A female passenger who had been in the car with Brice managed to escape and is now cooperating with the authorities.
Investigation Ongoing
The names of the victims have not been released, and the case remains under investigation. Witnesses reported that Brice had intentions of traveling to Georgia to harm another individual, prompting heightened vigilance in the area.
