Hazel Nairn : “Missing Woman Hazel Nairn Found”

Authorities have confirmed that the body recovered from the River Don last month has been identified as that of Hazel Nairn, a 71-year-old woman who had been missing since 2022.

Ms. Nairn was last seen near Monymusk on November 18, 2022, while out walking her dog. Tragically, she was swept away during severe flooding in the Kintore area when the river overflowed its banks.

Following her disappearance, a large-scale search operation involving police, coastguard teams, and the local community was launched in an effort to locate her. However, her remains were only discovered near Kemney, Inverurie on May 7.

Authorities have notified Ms. Nairn’s family about the identification of her body, and they have confirmed that her death is not being treated as suspicious.
