Euless, Texas — A shocking incident took place at an apartment complex pool in Euless, Texas on Sunday, leading to the arrest of a 42-year-old woman named Elizabeth Wolf. The Euless Police responded to a disturbance at the pool located in the 2500 block of Highway 360 around 5:44 p.m. on May 19, 2024.

According to witnesses, Wolf, who was reportedly highly intoxicated, attempted to drown a child and engaged in a heated argument with the child’s mother. The officers quickly intervened and detained Wolf as she tried to leave the scene. She was subsequently arrested for public intoxication.

The mother of the victims, a 32-year-old woman, provided a harrowing account of the incident. She revealed that Wolf had approached her and questioned her nationality, as well as the relationship between her and the two children playing at the pool. Upon confirming that the children were indeed hers, Wolf allegedly tried to grab the woman’s 6-year-old son, resulting in a scratch on his finger as he resisted.

Things took a terrifying turn when Wolf forcibly submerged the woman’s 3-year-old daughter underwater. The quick actions of the mother prevented a tragedy, as she managed to rescue her daughter who was coughing up water and calling for help. Euless Medics arrived on the scene promptly and evaluated both children, thankfully clearing them of any serious injuries.

The mother further disclosed that Wolf made racial remarks and questioned her American identity during the altercation. Euless Detectives swiftly gathered statements from the mother and other witnesses present at the scene. Subsequently, Wolf was charged with attempted capital murder and injury to a child.

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charges against Wolf, and the Euless Police Department recommended that the incident be treated as a hate crime due to the racial nature of the comments made. The community remains shocked by this disturbing incident, and the authorities are working diligently to ensure justice is served.
