A suspect has been taken into custody by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office following the discovery of a deceased man with injuries consistent with blunt force trauma and stabbing. The incident took place in the 200 block of Tabernacle Road on June 24, where deputies responded to a call regarding an unresponsive man in his residence. The victim was identified as 72-year-old David Young.
After conducting interviews with multiple individuals, 62-year-old Terry Houston was identified as the suspect in the case. It was determined that Houston visited Young’s home on Monday morning and a confrontation ensued, ultimately resulting in Young’s tragic death.
Following the arrest, Terry Houston was taken into custody and booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail on charges of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. The investigation is still ongoing, and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information related to this case to contact them at 337-463-3281.
