Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Van Buren County, Mich. — After an extensive 19-month investigation, authorities have arrested two individuals in connection to the murder of 33-year-old Lashaun Keith in Van Buren County.
Suspects identified and Charges
29-year-old Bryan Wimbley from Hartford and 22-year-old Zachary Trainor from Watervliet have been identified as the suspects in the case. Both men are facing charges of open murder in relation to the death of Keith. Trainor is also facing an additional charge of removal of a body without medical examiner permission.
Details of the Investigation
Investigators determined that Keith was assaulted and killed in Kalamazoo County before his body was transported to Geneva Township in Van Buren County, where it was discovered on November 3, 2022. The Major Case Unit, comprising the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police, led the investigation. The findings were then passed on to the Kalamazoo Prosecutors Office, which issued the arrest warrants for Wimbley and Trainor.
Legal Proceedings
Both suspects have been arraigned in the 8th District Court of Kalamazoo and are currently being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
