Accident – Death – Obituary News : TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Police Department (TPD) has apprehended a suspect in connection with the demise of a man whose body was discovered in an “advanced stage of decomposition” in Tampa on June 21.

On June 21, at around 11:54 a.m., law enforcement officers were dispatched to the 17000 block of Dona Michelle Drive following a report of a deceased individual. Upon arrival, officers found the body and subsequently located a Florida driver’s license, which was utilized to ascertain the identity of the victim.

Through their investigative efforts, detectives established that prior to the tragic incident, the victim had been residing in his car, a red 2006 Dodge Charger. Furthermore, detectives unearthed that the vehicle had been driven by an individual other than the victim.

The subsequent day, law enforcement officers located the victim’s vehicle parked at a residence situated in the 17000 block of Madison Creek Drive and placed the suspect, 29-year-old Andre Aris, under arrest.

During questioning, Aris disclosed to detectives that he had encountered the victim approximately one month prior and alleged that the victim had recently entrusted him with the Charger to sell. However, in a subsequent interview, Aris claimed that the individual who handed over the vehicle did not resemble the victim. Nevertheless, based on the evidence gathered, Aris was found to be in possession of several of the victim’s photo identification cards.

Authorities revealed that detectives executed a search warrant at a storage facility and a nearby hotel close to the location where the victim was discovered. In both premises, incriminating evidence linking Aris to the murder of the victim was seized.

Subsequently, Aris was formally charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle. He is currently incarcerated at Orient Road Jail.

In a related development, a new state law set to come into effect on July 1 stipulates that homeowners’ associations (HOAs) will no longer be permitted to enact regulations barring pickup trucks and work vehicles from parking in driveways. This legislative change is expected to benefit numerous homeowners with work-related vehicles. However, uncertainties persist regarding the implementation and enforcement of this new law.

It remains to be seen how this legislative amendment will impact the daily lives of homeowners across Florida and how it will be enforced by HOAs moving forward..
