Reporters on the scene documented bullet holes in the store’s windows and spent shell casings scattered throughout the parking lot. The victims were identified as Shirley Taylor, 62; Callie Weems, 23; Roy Sturgis, 50; and Ellen Shrum, 81—all civilians, as confirmed by authorities. The injured individuals, ranging in age from 20 to 65, included a woman in critical condition. Five of the wounded remained hospitalized, with Fordyce Police Officer James Johnson, 31, already released from the hospital, and Stuttgart Police Officer John Hudson, 24, recovering from minor injuries.

The suspect, identified as Travis Eugene Posey, 44, from New Edinburg, will face four counts of capital murder. Police mentioned that Mr. Posey sustained non-life-threatening injuries during an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement and was subsequently taken into custody. He is currently held at the Ouachita County Detention Center.
