During a fan event on Thalapathy Vijay’s birthday, a child sustained burn injuries while attempting a dangerous martial arts stunt.

Celebrations for Thalapathy Vijay’s 50th birthday took a tragic turn at a fan event in Chennai. A young boy, identified as Krishvva from Mylapore, accidentally set his hand on fire while attempting a dangerous martial arts stunt. The incident occurred as he showcased his skill of breaking bricks with his bare hands engulfed in flames. The child struggled to extinguish the fire and cried out in pain, prompting a bystander to try to help, albeit mistakenly using a flammable substance instead of water, worsening the situation.

Despite safety measures in place, including a nearby fire extinguisher, the situation escalated before the extinguisher was finally used. The video of the incident quickly spread on social media, leading to criticism of the event organizers for allowing such a risky stunt. Just a day prior, Thalapathy Vijay had urged fans to refrain from organizing events in light of a recent tragedy in Tamil Nadu, but the event went ahead at the Suganya Wedding Hall in Chennai.

In response to the incident, social media users had varying opinions. One user commented, “This was an accident. It can happen anywhere.” Another user remarked, “India is not even for experts,” while a different user humorously stated, “He became a dragon and started spitting fire.”

The victim, Krishvva, sustained 3% to 5% burns on his right hand and received medical attention. Sub Inspector Balu of Neelankarai police confirmed that no legal action would be taken against the event organizers as the child’s family opted not to pursue any charges.

Thalapathy Vijay is set to appear in the upcoming film “The Greatest Of All Time,” directed by Venkat Prabhu and featuring Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, and Jayaram in key roles. The movie is scheduled for release on September 5.
