According to Bangor police Sgt. Jason McAmbley, officers were dispatched around 2:45 p.m. following a call from a distressed individual who reported being threatened with a knife. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Harlow and Franklin streets, with the victim fleeing the area after the suspect made the threats.
Police were able to quickly apprehend the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Steven Roux, near Cross Street and Main Street. Roux was taken into custody and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a felony, as well as assault.
The weapon in question, a knife matching the description provided by the caller, was recovered by the police. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries during the encounter, and there were no prior connections between the two individuals.
