Shuhaib : MDMA Bust: Man Caught with 6g+

Kochi City police apprehended a 33-year-old man in Fort Kochi on Saturday for possession of MDMA. The suspect, identified as Shuhaib of Kalvathy, Fort Kochi, was found with 6.01g of MDMA during a raid at his residence. The seized drugs were believed to be intended for sale targeting the youth in Kochi. The accused was presented in court and subsequently remanded in judicial custody.

Police Operation to Combat Drug Activities in Kochi

The arrest was made as part of a combing operation conducted by the police under the guidance of Mattancherry assistant commissioner Manoj K R and Kochi city deputy commissioner K S Sudarshan. The team involved in the operation included Inspector Prashanth Kumar K, sub-inspector Abdul Hakim, senior civil police officer Augustin, and civil police officers Saji, Asad, and Viji.

Awareness Session for Autorickshaw Drivers

In a separate initiative, Muvattupuzha Janamaithri Police organized an evening class on monsoon safety for autorickshaw drivers, particularly those operating at night in the KSRTC stand area. The session aimed to educate drivers on identifying and reporting anti-social elements and suspicious activities that could pose a threat. Inspector B K Arun emphasized the pivotal role autorickshaw drivers play in reducing crime and ensuring a safe environment in Muvattupuzha.

The class, led by station PRO assistant sub-inspector Sibi Achyuthan, emphasized the importance of cooperation between drivers and law enforcement to maintain security during the monsoon season. The initiative seeks to combat heightened criminal activity during adverse weather conditions, with a focus on preventing theft and ensuring public safety.

With these proactive measures, authorities aim to enhance public safety and security in Kochi and Muvattupuzha, creating a more vigilant and responsive community in the face of emerging challenges.
