COLUMBUS, Ohio — A shooting in the Short North Arts District in Columbus early Sunday left ten people injured, with one victim in critical condition, Ohio authorities confirmed. Among the victims were two teenagers, as reported by WBNS-TV.

Update 11:47 p.m. EDT June 23: Following the incident, a man surrendered to police on Sunday evening in connection to the shooting. According to WBNS-TV, the man identified himself as the driver of a white Honda Civic sought by authorities. The individual, who remains unidentified by police, was subsequently arrested and charged with obstructing official business, as reported by WCMH-TV.

Columbus Division of Police Sgt. Joe Albert stated that efforts are underway to identify all individuals involved in the shooting. Earlier reports indicated that the suspected shooter, described as a male dressed in all black, had entered the Honda Civic before fleeing the scene.

In an official statement, Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther condemned the incident, labeling it as “outrageous” and “unacceptable.” The Mayor urged the community to come forward with any information that could lead to the apprehension of the perpetrators.

This marks the second mass shooting in the Short North area of Columbus in the span of 13 months, with a similar incident occurring in May 2023, leaving several individuals wounded. Authorities continue to investigate the latest shooting, emphasizing the need for collaboration between law enforcement and the community to ensure safety.
