Tragedy struck the town of Pittsfield earlier this month when 38-year-old Ryan Babcock, a resident of Housatonic, was shot and killed. The loss of Babcock has left a deep void in the lives of his loved ones, including his son and parents.
Born in Pittsfield on June 22, 1985, to Kenneth and Debrah Babcock, Ryan was a cherished member of his family. He is survived by his parents, three brothers – Shane, Jeremy, and Justin Babcock, his son Brayden Nowabilski, his sister Megan Babcock, and his five nieces and nephews.
According to Birches Roy Funeral Home, a celebration of Babcock’s life was held on Friday, June 21, at the James A. Modolo Post in Great Barrington. Friends and family gathered to pay their respects and honour his memory.

The tragic incident that claimed Babcock’s life occurred on June 11 in Pittsfield. Authorities believe that the shooting was a targeted attack and not a random act of violence, as per the Berkshire County District Attorney’s office.
On the fateful day, police responded to a report of a man with gunshot wounds on Fenn Street. Upon arrival, Babcock was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with fatal injuries.
