SALT LAKE CITY — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting and killing of a 30-year-old man in Salt Lake City last month, and authorities have indicated that more arrests may follow.

21-year-old Nay Blusoe was taken into custody on Sunday and is facing charges of aggravated murder and obstruction of justice, according to a statement released by the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Blusoe is the second individual to be arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Nico Christopher Patino, who was fatally shot on May 26. Last week, 19-year-old Abdihakim Mohamed was the first suspect apprehended in the case.

The Salt Lake City Police Department revealed that Patino was killed in what appeared to be a coordinated attack involving multiple shooters on foot and in a vehicle.

Court documents indicate that Patino was attending an after-party at an industrial warehouse on Fortune Road when he was approached by individuals in a car. He was then shot by multiple assailants who were both on foot and inside the vehicle.

Mohamed was identified as a suspect following an investigation that included surveillance footage of the suspect vehicle at the crime scene and in other areas of the city, as well as cell phone location data. He was stopped while driving the suspect vehicle on June 18 and initially cooperated with police before requesting legal representation.

Blusoe’s involvement in the case remains unclear, but authorities disclosed that he had left the state and travelled to Detroit, Michigan following the shooting. He returned to Salt Lake City on Sunday, where he was arrested by police officers.

Although Blusoe’s arrest marks a significant development in the investigation, authorities have stated that the case remains ongoing and further arrests are possible. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000 or submit an anonymous tip via City Protect online.

The case number for reference is 24-113488.
