Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities in San Bernardino County have apprehended a man accused of robbing a 78-year-old woman from Yucaipa, and the investigation has also resulted in the arrest of his brother. The incident took place on Friday when the victim had just parked her car in the 35000 block of Yucaipa Boulevard after making a withdrawal from a nearby bank. As she exited her vehicle, she was confronted by a man identified as 41-year-old Glenn Hess.

According to a release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Hess threatened the elderly woman with violence if she did not hand over her purse. He then proceeded to forcibly take her purse from her, causing the victim to attempt to resist. Hess then fled the scene, but witnesses who had recorded the altercation provided deputies with valuable cell phone footage capturing Hess’ vehicle and license plate number as he made his escape.

Authorities wasted no time in identifying Glenn Hess as the suspect and swiftly tracked him down to his residence in Yucaipa. A search warrant was executed, resulting in the detention of both Glenn and his brother Lucas Hess, 42, for further investigation. During the search, deputies recovered some of the stolen property belonging to the victim, as well as three firearms – one of which was an illegal assault rifle – and a substantial quantity of ammunition.

Investigators also discovered that Lucas Hess was on parole and had a felony no-bail parole violation warrant. He was promptly arrested for the violation. Glenn Hess, an ex-felon himself, was arrested on multiple felony charges, including elder abuse, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of ammunition as a felon. Both brothers were booked at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, with Lucas being held without bail and Glenn with a bail set at $50,000.
