On May 19, the Euless Police Department received a call about a disturbance at an apartment complex pool. Witnesses reported that an intoxicated woman, later identified as Elizabeth Wolf, had attempted to drown a child and engaged in a verbal altercation with the child’s mother. The mother, visibly Muslim and wearing a hijab, was subjected to racist comments by Wolf.
Hate Crime Allegation
The Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations has called for a hate crime investigation into the incident, citing the racial and religious nature of the attack. The organisation has urged state and federal law enforcement authorities to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of the Muslim family and the community.
Victim’s Trauma
The mother of the children involved in the incident expressed her fear and trauma following the attack. Elizabeth Wolf was arrested for public intoxication at the scene and subsequently charged with attempted capital murder and injury to a child.
