Alex E. Neumeier : Mass. man faces drug charges after Dunkin’ crash

A 28-year-old man was taken into custody last week on cocaine-related charges following a collision involving his truck and another vehicle in the parking lot of a Dunkin’ Donuts in Cohasset, Massachusetts.

Authorities from the Cohasset Police Department were dispatched to the Dunkin’ Donuts located on King Street (Route 3A) last Tuesday in response to reports of a vehicular accident. Witnesses who called 911 informed law enforcement that the driver of the pickup truck appeared to be experiencing a seizure while behind the wheel, causing the truck to continue moving with its tires spinning uncontrollably.

Upon arrival, officers were informed by onlookers that they had managed to park the truck safely and prevent any further damage or injuries. During the initial assessment of the situation, law enforcement officers discovered a crack pipe and various drug paraphernalia in close proximity to the driver.

Drug Discovery

Further investigation at the scene exposed a substantial quantity of white powder within the confines of the truck. The substance, suspected to be cocaine, prompted police officials to take swift action.

Arrest and Charges

The driver, later identified as Alex E. Neumeier from Halifax, was apprehended at the scene and subsequently transported to South Shore Hospital for medical evaluation. Following his release from medical care, Neumeier was formally charged with trafficking in a Class B drug exceeding 100 grams, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Neumeier made an appearance at Quincy District Court on Thursday for arraignment proceedings and is currently being held at the Norfolk County House of Correction pending a dangerousness hearing.
