The Cleburne County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that a 16-year-old male from Lincoln tragically lost his life in an accidental drowning incident that took place at Cheaha State Park on Sunday. The young individual, identified as Thatcher Rigsby, was pronounced deceased at 1:58 p.m. at Cheaha Lake.
The authorities have indicated that the drowning is currently classified as accidental, pending official confirmation from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. Both the Cleburne County Coroner’s Office and the sheriff’s office have expressed their gratitude to the multiple agencies that provided assistance during the investigation.
