Woman Arrested in Connection with Fatal Crash in Daytona Beach
A young woman has been taken into custody by the Daytona Beach Police Department in relation to a tragic accident that occurred in January. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Starlett Tabares, is now facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and vehicular homicide.
The incident took place during the weekend of the prestigious Rolex 24 race, a popular event in the Daytona Beach area. Authorities responded to a collision at the intersection of Seabreeze Boulevard and North Oleander Avenue, where a man had been struck by a vehicle. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the police report, Tabares was allegedly operating her vehicle in a reckless manner and was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash. Following an investigation into the matter, Tabares was apprehended by law enforcement last Saturday. Her upcoming court hearing has been scheduled for July, where she will face the charges brought against her.
