Residents in a North York neighbourhood have expressed concerns about drug use and drug trafficking, prompting Toronto police to take action. According to a recent news release, officers from 31 Division responded to complaints in the area of Jane Street and Wilson Avenue.

During a routine foot patrol of the neighbourhood, police officers stumbled upon three individuals in a garage unit that did not belong to them. A loaded firearm, identified as a Smith and Wesson 9mm with 13 rounds of 9mm Luger ammunition, was discovered at the scene where the men were seated.

Two of the suspects were apprehended without resistance, while the third attempted to flee but was captured after a brief chase. Subsequent search warrants were executed at various addresses in the vicinity of Chalkfarm Drive and Jane Street, leading to the confiscation of almost 300 grams of fentanyl, 266 grams of cocaine, and 117 grams of methamphetamine, among other illicit substances.

In addition to the narcotics seized, a sum of undisclosed cash was also confiscated by the authorities. The three individuals arrested in connection with the incident have been identified as Romaro Rolando Thompson, 23, Romario Orlando Thompson, 23, and Kody Mariam, 21, all residents of Toronto. Each of the suspects is facing more than a dozen charges, including multiple counts of possessing a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

All three accused individuals made an appearance in a Toronto courtroom for a bail hearing over the weekend. Police are urging anyone with relevant information about the case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
