Accident – Death – Obituary News : A Michigan state representative is facing potential felony charges for sexual assault and weapons offenses after allegedly chasing an exotic dancer while brandishing a firearm. Republican state Rep. Neil Friske, 62, was reportedly released from police custody in Lansing following the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning.

According to reports from The Detroit Free Press and MIRS News, Friske allegedly pursued the adult dancer following a disagreement, prompting police to respond to reports of possible gunfire in the area. The incident unfolded near a condominium owned by Friske on Windbreak Lane, close to the Deja Vu Showgirls strip club where the dancer is said to have worked.

The establishment declined to provide comment when approached by The New York Post, but law enforcement officials indicated that they were investigating a potential sexual assault involving the female victim. However, as of now, no formal charges have been filed against Friske.

Friske’s attorney, Edwar Zeineh, stated that they are fully committed to demonstrating his innocence in this matter. While the Lansing police department has reportedly requested charges of sexual assault, assault, and weapons-related offenses against the lawmaker, it remains unclear what specific charges he will ultimately face.

In a statement released on social media, Friske’s campaign expressed skepticism about the timing of his arrest, suggesting that it coincided with the upcoming release of absentee ballots and followed polling related to the upcoming primary election. Despite the legal proceedings, Friske’s campaign affirmed his commitment to his Second Amendment rights and maintained that he deserves his day in court.

Friske, who is seeking re-election to a second term in the Michigan House, faces a primary challenge from Parker Fairbairn. The winner of the primary is expected to secure victory in the general election, given the Republican stronghold of the district. Fairbairn, while acknowledging the presumption of innocence, criticized Friske’s voting record on various issues and called for higher standards of representation in the 107th District.

As investigations continue and legal proceedings unfold, Friske’s campaign remains steadfast in their belief that he will be vindicated against what they perceive as baseless charges. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story..
