AMBALA: In a tragic incident, a 45-year-old woman named Meena and her 24-year-old son Rahul were discovered dead in their home in the Azad Nagar area of Yamunanagar city on Sunday. The police suspect foul play in the form of strangulation, with Meena’s daughter Kajal (22) and other accomplices implicated in the crime.

Investigation Details

Upon receiving the distressing news, Yamunanagar DSP Abhilaksh Joshi and SHO Jagdish Chander promptly arrived at the crime scene with a forensic team to begin their inquiries. The bodies of Meena and Rahul were found in separate rooms of the house, prompting the police to secure the premises and send the bodies for post-mortem at the Civil Hospital in Yamunanagar.

CCTV Footage and Suspicions

DSP Abhilaksh revealed that although the CCTV cameras at the house were turned off, recordings from nearby functioning cameras have been obtained. The police have gathered crucial evidence from the scene, pointing towards a premeditated act. Sub-inspector Nirmal Singh noted discrepancies in Kajal’s initial statements, suggesting a possible cover-up of the true motives behind the murders.

Official Statements and Legal Actions

SI Nirmal shared that Kajal claimed to have discovered the bodies upon returning home, alleging robbery as the primary motive. However, upon closer inspection, the police deemed her account unreliable and have since registered a case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code against Kajal and her unknown associates.

Family Property Dispute

Yamunanagar SP addressed the media, hinting at a family property dispute as the underlying cause of the heinous crime. The police have obtained credible CCTV footage implicating Kajal and her accomplice, leading to formal charges of murder against the daughter.
