The Salt Lake City Police Department announced the arrest of a fugitive suspect wanted in connection to a shooting incident that occurred in February. According to a press release issued by the department, the suspect was apprehended on Friday.

Back on February 1, officers from the SLCPD responded to a call near 1500 West Gillespie Ave. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition, as per police reports.

Following the incident, detectives launched an extensive investigation, eventually identifying 37-year-old Kenneth Ray Washington III as a suspect in the case.

On the evening of Friday, law enforcement officials located a vehicle belonging to Washington in the vicinity of 1000 South Main St.

Subsequently, a judge granted a no-bail warrant for the arrest of Washington on Friday. The suspect was safely taken into custody by authorities.


It is important to note that charges against individuals are merely allegations, and each arrested person is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
