Jacksonville rapper Foolio, whose real name is Charles Jones, tragically lost his life early Sunday morning in Tampa. The news of his untimely death was confirmed by his lawyer, Lewis Fusco.
The incident took place at a hotel in uptown Tampa, where police were called in the early hours of the morning following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered two vehicles that had been targeted in the hotel’s parking lot.
Regrettably, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tampa Police Department. Additionally, three other individuals sustained gunshot wounds and are currently in stable condition, receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

The Tampa Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the motive behind the attack and the identities of those responsible.
According to reports, Jones was celebrating his birthday on the night of the fatal incident. The 26-year-old rapper, who boasted a substantial following of 1 million on Instagram, had shared footage on his story promoting a pool party earlier that evening. In the video, he encouraged his followers to direct message him for the event’s location.
Later in the evening, Jones informed his followers that the police had disrupted their gathering and forced them to vacate their Airbnb. Subsequently, he relocated to a Holiday Inn, where he was tragically ambushed in the parking lot.
Tragic Loss
In a poignant Instagram story posted just hours before his death, Jones expressed gratitude to everyone who attended his birthday celebration, exclaiming, “Best birthday everrrr 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 appreciate everybody who pulled up we turnt up till we couldn’t nomo.” He then mentioned heading to a show and urged his followers to join him.
Earlier in April, Jones had announced the release of his latest album, “Resurrection,” and revealed that he had survived multiple attempts on his life. Despite the dangers he faced, Jones remained dedicated to his music, amassing nearly 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify at the time of his passing.
