Craig Arnold Hardy : “Iowa Man Steals Tractor, Rams City Hall – WFTV”

A man in western Iowa has been arrested after allegedly causing extensive damage to Pisgah City Hall. The incident, which occurred on June 21, involved the theft of a tractor and the destruction of vehicles, fences, playground equipment, and the building housing the city hall.

According to a news release from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 59-year-old Craig Arnold Hardy of Moorhead was taken into custody and charged with first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree theft, assault on law enforcement, and driving with a barred license.

The incident began in the early hours of the morning when witnesses reported seeing Hardy operating a farm tractor within the city limits of Pisgah. He allegedly caused damage to multiple vehicles and the playground before crashing the tractor into the closed garage doors of City Hall.

A resident was able to remove the key from the tractor, prompting Hardy to flee the scene on foot. Law enforcement officials later apprehended him, and an investigation revealed that the tractor had been stolen from a farm outside of Magnolia, located approximately 12 miles south of Pisgah.

Authorities estimate that Hardy caused around £7,000 worth of damage during the incident. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Harrison County Jail for processing.
