A shocking incident has rocked the Air Force Comprehensive School in Kaduna, as a 15-year-old student, Blaise Felix Aliyu, was tragically murdered by two senior secondary (SS3) students within the school dormitory located in the Air Force Base in Mando, Kaduna.

The victim, Felix, who had lost his parents in 2013, was left behind with his twin brother, who is in Junior Secondary School 2 (JSS2) within the same boarding school.

Following the horrific incident, Felix’s body has been deposited in the mortuary while investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.

Nigerian Air Force Responds

The Nigerian Air Force, in a statement issued by Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, expressed deep sadness over the tragic loss of one of their students. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, assured that a thorough investigation is currently underway to uncover the truth behind Felix’s death.

An official at the Air Force Base, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the incident took place on June 19, 2024. It was reported that two SS3 students, who had just completed their WAEC exams and were awaiting NECO examinations, invited Felix to their room for disciplinary action, which tragically resulted in his death.

Community Shocked by the Tragedy

The tragic news has left the school community and residents in shock. The chairman of the school’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) disclosed that Felix’s death was a result of illegal electrical connections in the room, leading to electrocution during a punishment session by an SS3 student.

Additionally, social media users, including a school staff member, have shared their grief and concern over the circumstances surrounding Felix’s death. Steve Kefas, in a Facebook post, alleged that the victim was tortured to death through electrocution by the SS3 students.

Seeking Justice for Felix

Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Command for comments on the incident were unsuccessful at the time of writing. However, the Air Force authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring that justice is served in Felix’s case.
