Abdul Fuller : 17-Year-Old Arrested in Florida for DC Shooting

Teen Arrested in Connection with Deadly Southeast D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced the arrest of a 17-year-old boy in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in Southeast D.C. in March 2023.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on March 7, 2023, at approximately 7:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of Bruce Place. Police responded to a report of a shooting and upon arrival, discovered two male victims with gunshot wounds.

Tragically, one of the men, identified as 23-year-old Dana Faulkner from Southeast D.C., succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The second victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after the initial shooting, officers were summoned to the intersection of Wheeler Road and Mississippi Avenue where they found an unconscious teenager suffering from critical injuries. The young boy, identified as 15-year-old Abdul Fuller, passed away at the hospital on March 9, 2023. Investigators determined that Fuller was also a victim of the Bruce Place shooting.

Fast forward to December 21, 2023, when a 19-year-old man from Northeast D.C. was apprehended and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed (Premeditated) in connection with the case.

On June 21, a 17-year-old boy hailing from Northeast D.C. was extradited from Jacksonville, Florida, and taken to MPD’s Juvenile Processing Center. He faces charges of Second Degree Murder while Armed in relation to the death of Dana Faulkner.
