York Regional Police have arrested a 41-year-old Toronto man in connection with a tragic quadruple shooting at a residence in Vaughan. The incident, which took place on Casa Nova Drive in the Woodbridge area, resulted in the deaths of a 40-year-old woman, Thi Trang Do, and a two-year-old boy, Marcus Vu. Additionally, two other individuals were injured in the shooting but are currently in stable condition.
Suspect Charged with First-Degree Murder
The suspect, Van Viet Duong, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. Police have indicated that the accused is believed to have had a prior relationship with the victims, suggesting that the incident was targeted in nature.
Increased Concerns in the Community
This tragic incident comes on the heels of another recent shooting in the area, where a 21-year-old woman was shot and killed in the parking lot of Vaughan Mills. Two suspects have been apprehended and charged in connection with that case, raising concerns about escalating violence in the community.
