Delhi Police Arrest Mastermind Behind Brutal Murder in Sarai Rohilla

Delhi: The city police has finally apprehended the man responsible for a heinous murder in Sarai Rohilla, bringing the total number of arrests to six. Among those arrested are three juveniles, making a total of seven accused individuals in custody.

The crime occurred on the night of May 8-9, when Sarai Rohilla Police station received a distress call reporting a body found at New Rohtak Road. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a lifeless body with multiple wounds on the upper torso, leading to a thorough investigation.

The deceased was later identified as Ravi Yadav, a resident of Patel Nagar, by his wife at the hospital where the body was taken for postmortem examination.

Details of the Arrested Individuals

Delhi Police disclosed the identities of the apprehended suspects as Ajeet Kumar Jha alias Gullu (22), Shiva (20), Iqbal (19), and three juveniles aged 14, 17, and 17 respectively. Additionally, authorities recovered four sharp-edged knives and the clothing worn by the accused at the time of the crime.

However, the mastermind behind the murder remained at large until recently.

Background of the Murder

Investigations revealed a complex motive behind the killing. In July 2020, Kishan, along with his associates Rajan and Tanbir, engaged in a dispute with the victim Ravi Yadav, during which Tanbir attempted to shoot Yadav but accidentally hit Rajan instead, resulting in his death.

Following his release in December 2023, Kishan married the widow of his deceased accomplice Rajan and vowed to avenge his friend’s death by targeting Yadav.

Arrest of the Mastermind

After an extensive search, police successfully apprehended the mastermind, identified as Kishan, a 24-year-old resident of Zakhira in Moti Nagar, on June 14.

The investigation into the case continues as authorities work to bring all perpetrators to justice and uncover the full extent of the motive behind the brutal murder in Sarai Rohilla.
